Our compostable standing bags are made entirely of FSC-sourced craft paper and PLA-fermented non-GM corn starch produced from compostable monomers.
Under composting conditions, PLA is biodegradable, first by the hydrolysis process, then by the action of microorganisms, and finally degrades PLA.
